Reverend Lee Brown

der seine musikalische Karriere im Alter von 6 Jahren in Topeka/Kansas in der Kirche begann, studierte an verschiedenen Universitäten neben Schauspiel und Musik auch Theologie.

Seinen ersten Jugendchor hat er mit 16 Jahren dirigiert, mit 27 Jahren wurde er Pastor der 2th Baptist Church von Doge City in Kansas.

Mit 32 Jahren kam er erstmals nach Deutschland. Seit 1990 ist Lee hauptberuflich als Musiker in den Bereichen Gospel, Blues, Soul und Jazz unterwegs, wobei er Gospel-Musik klar favorisiert. Seine musikalische Biographie liest sich wie das who is who des Gospel, Jazz und Rhytm´n Blues. Produktionen mit Sammy Davis jr., Weather Girls, Ray Brown, Benny Golson, Jimmy Cobb...)

Seine künstlerischen Qualitäten sind allseits begehrt und ließen ihn zu einem der gefragtesten amerikanischen Gospelleader werden.

 

Giovana "Gigi" Warner Kingsberry

Giovana Warner Kingsberry, native of Tennessee, began her gospel musical career of singing in her hometown church/ Through God’s mercy and grace, she has traveled throughout Europe singing the “good news” with many gospel groups. She has led and directed several gospel choirs in Japan and Germany. Giovana , known to the Freedom Family as Gigi, was one of the first to sing with Reverend Lee Brown and The Freedom Family.

With God’s help and Rev. Brown’s guidance. she will continue to take God’s word, through music to all the lands!

Giovana Warner Kingsberry, geboren in Tenessee, begann ihre  musikalische Karriere im Bereich Gospel in der Kirche ihrer Heimatstadt. Durch Gottes Gnade konnte sie mit vielen Gospel-Chören durch Europa reisen und die Frohe Botschaft singend verkündigen. Auch als Chorleiter und Musikalischer Direktor arbeitete sie mit verschiedenen Chören in Deutschland und Japan.  Giovana, in der Freedom Family bekannt als "Gigi", war eine der ersten Solistinnen von Rev. Lee Brown und der Freedom Family. 

Mit Gottes Hilfe und Rev. Browns Beratung wird sie ihre Mission fortsetzen : Gottes Wort durch Musik verkünden!

 

Harriet  Lewis

Harriet "songbird" Lewis, die Mutter der Freedom Family begeistert mit unvergleichlicher Ausstrahlung und ausdrucksstarker Stimme seit über drei Jahrzehnten auf den Bühnen der Welt. Und das u.a. auch mit Größen wie den Weather Girls, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles oder als Background-Sängerin von Michael Jackson. Mehr über Harriet siehe links

  "Pops" Benjamin Parker Wilson

is one of the most famous international Vibraphone players living in Europe.

He is the leader of his own ensembles, as well as a featured solist in many other bands. As a vibraphone player, band leader and drummer/percussionist he has worked with some of the biggest names
in jazz music for the last forty years.

Although he is recognised as a jazz artist, his musical expertise crosses over from classical to funk to fusion to gospel.

 "Pops" Benjamin Parker Wilson
ist einer der berühmtesten in Europa lebenden Vibraphonisten.
Er ist der Leiter seiner eigenen Ensembels, aber auch Solist in vielen anderen Bands. Als Vibraphonist, Band-leader und drummer/percussionist hat er mit den bekanntesten Jazz- Musikern der letzten 40 Jahre gearbeitet. Obwohl er als Jazzkünstler bekannt ist, reichen seine musikalischen Sachkenntnisse und Interessen von Klassik über Funk bis zum Gospel.

Kevin Drummond

Pianist/Singer/Arranger/Musical Director Kevin Drummond is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Ebenezer Temple, a local Church in Brooklyn, he began to develop his musical skills. Playing mostly by ear, he briefly attended the New School of Music in New York City.

In his professional career he has performed with several Off and On Broadway productions. He has been blessed to tour abroad in Europe, Japan, & The Caribbean, as well as domestically in the U.S. as Musical Director for many touring groups, among them, The Harlem Gospel Singers.

Fusing Gospel music influenced by Jazz, Blues and Traditional Gospel elements, Kevin has truly mastered his craft.

 

Sandra Cartolari

Sandra was born in Buerlach (Switzerland) in 1965 and since then she has been singing -
professionally since 1988, and lately also composing. Genre: Gopel / Jazz / Tango.

Lara Luppi

I sing jazz, pop, gospel. I share  artistic projects with other musicians giving my original and personal contribution in arranging, improvising, composing,the music and in editing a show.

I work thanks to a constant inspiration given to me mostly by the fabolous artists I work and have worked with.

My thankfulness and joy goes to Lucio Bruni, Rev. Lee Brown and all the Freedom Family Gospel Choir, The Jumpin’ Shoes, Sandra Cartolari, Joe Pisto, The Blue Midnight Orchestra, Stefano Cappa and Lucio Caliendo, Marco Remondini, Andrea Minelli, God’s Angels, Oracle’s King Blues Band, Bruno Marini, Sheila Jordan and all the great jazz musicians I met through all these years.

 

Cameron Warner

Born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, Cameron Warner began playing the drums for the Freedom Family when he was 11 years old, under the direction of Reverend Robert Lee Brown. While living in Germany, Cameron grew up playing the drums for his church choir in Hanau at the Pioneer Gospel Service.

He also was a percussionist in his school band where he was selected to play in the 2005 European Jazz Ensemble directed by Jiggs Whigham. As a young musician Cameron toured with Rev. Lee Brown & The Freedom Family in Italy and Spain as well as in Germany.

Cameron was mentored by blues/gospel drummer Tommy Harris who played with the first Freedom Family Ensemble. Also to guide Cameron in the right direction as a percussionist was jazz/gospel vibraphonist Benjamin “Pops” Wilson. Cameron also played the drums for church choirs in his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee.
